Dr. Scott Forsyth has been a civil aviation medical examiner and community family physician in Calgary Alberta since 2001. Scott’s avid interest in the aviation field has been further increased through his current activity of pursuing his private pilot’s licence. As a graduate of both Law School and Medical School from the University of Calgary, Scott has incorporated his regulatory background with medical practice as a former board director and chair of the Calgary West Central Primary Care Network - a non-profit corporation composed of over 500 family physicians and 150 medical clinics.
Outside of medicine Scott is actively involved in the field of photography. As a certified Marine Guide for ship-based expedition touring companies Scott leads photographic excursions to remote coastal locations across Canada on an annual basis. In 2019 Rocky Mountain Books published his award winning book The Wild Coasts of Canada, featuring images from all three ocean coastlines of Canada. The content of this book forms the basis of an ongoing speaking tour across Canada in association with Canadian Geographic promoting geographical education. On the basis of this photographic quest, he is a Fellow of both the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, and The Explorer’s Club in NYC. In 2019 Canadian Geographic designated Scott to be their on-going Photographer-In-Residence. www.scottforsyth.ca
